JavaScript Error of 'cfg' object not defined in 4.8.11

Hi,

I have installed contenido 4.8.11. I am finding javascript error whenever i click on Content --> Articles. The error description is like 'messageBox not defined' and also 'cfg object not defined'. I am using IE6 and PHP 5.2.6. I have tried another version of contenido 4.8.9 but finding same javascript problem .Can anybody please help me in this issue.

welcome first to Contenido Forum.

Did you a clean install of Contenido?
Did you install it on XAMPP or WAMP?
What FTP-proggi do you use?
Which browser do you use?

Please give more informations. Normaly there is no javascript error neither in 4.8.9 nor 4.8.11.

Hi,

I am using the IE6 from cisco manager browser (a secured browser). I have tried with machine A, other version of contenido like 4.6.24, 4.8.9 and 4.8.11 with PHP5 and finding the javascript error on loading of the page by clicking Content--> Articles. Javascript error is show stopper when i use 4.8.x, howerver it doesnt stop the functionality when i use 4.6.24.

I have tried the contenido versions on another machine B and tried with cisco manager browser and is working fine with no javascript error.

I have also tried the contenido version on machine A with the IE 8 but without cisco manager browser i.e. with normal browser and is working fine.

So is this a browser related error or contendo settings or cisco manager or machine settings?

I need it to see the output on cisco manager browser of machine A contenido.Please help...

Does any module cause a fatal error (see errorlog at Administration -> System)? If so, rendering of HTML is incomplete (leading to invalid HTML) which might cause JS to crash.
If not, - no clue, might be some buggy module being used.

I checked for the errorlog at Administration -> System but see no error relates to javascript crash.

The contenido 4.8.x works fine (without error) on the browser IE7 on a machine.
But if i try to see on the browser IE6 of Cisco Manager it shows the javascript error of "messageBox not defined" and also "cfg object not defined".

Can that be a problem of browser? Has any body got the same problem of contenido not working properly on IE6 ?

Might be some restriced browser build, "IE6 of Cisco Manager" must've been mentioned somewhere around here, did you check the forum search already?

I used the same contenido version 4.8.12 on machine A and its working preoperly on the "IE 6 of Cisco Manager".
But it is throwing javascript error of "cfg object notdefined" when i tried the same contenido version 4.8.12 on machine B with same "IE 6 of Cisco Manager".
I am using the same browser for seeing the ouput of both machines.
Can that be the problem with machine settings? or
Is it browser(but the browser is same for both machines)
Please help.

If a version of Contenido is running at Webserver X and you get different results with two local machines both running IE6 (one working, one not working), I would suggest it's a configuration problem with the IE6 machine that throws errors..

Hi,

I see both output on third machine browser i.e basically a on the fly cisco manger browser IE 6.
And i see ouput of one machine properly whereas another has problem.
So the configuration settings of IE6 on the third machine is working fine for one and not for another.

The error is difficult to trace. Please help.

Unfortunately, I've no clue. I would suggest to compare any settings on the machines, maybe security zone setting in Windows, whatsoever.

I got the solutuion.
It worked by making changes in "php.ini" file as
zlib.output_compression = Off
