Hello,
Can someone explain how to use the login module?
I need to define user groups (for example "group1", "group2", "group3") and to give them different access level.
For example:
- a news section should be writeable (= can add articles) for group1 and readable for group1 and group2 but not for group3
- a document folder should be writeable for group2 (or for a single user) but only readable for group3
- a menu section is visible for group1 and 2, but not for group3.
Is there a way to do what I need with the login module?
A way to define groups and components (news, download/upload, events...) which use those groups?
A lot of thx for your help and time,
Dominique

Hi, with 4.4.4 you can set user rights in the backend, thus define, who is allowed to edit what.
Any known user has the right to access all sections in the frontend (just reading the website) even if the sections are hidden.
As far as I know, there is no module out, which cares for distinct user right in the front end, though they can be set in the backend.
Regards Florian
